only one week ago
Last week the idea came to me to bring together some of the people in my life who have inspired me and/or are doing incredible things in the world to create awesome familyness in their lives.
I reached out to them hoping I would have 14 people that would be willing (at the last minute) to put together a book that would challenge me all to be more aware of the ways I can show love to the people I most adore. I knew that these parents were doing small and simple acts of being present, loving the life they are leading, and celebrating the people they adore.
I knew you would want hear how they are doing these little things, too!
the response
More than 14 people responded. Twenty five parents sent in their ideas! It was overwhelming and exciting to feel the energy of their responses! (scroll to the bottom of this post to receive this awesome little book!)
For many of us Valentine’s Day is ‘that one holiday’ for couples in love. I believe that Valentine’s Day (actually the whole month of February) is a chance each year to rejuvenate the way I love. Not just that but also the intensity and awareness with which I love these people who are in my life every single day.
Life is messy and chaotic and full to the brim with getting things done, functioning. I want to live beyond functioning. I know that you do, too. February, for me, is the month for reviving that sweet little nuance that makes life so much sweeter and richer and divine. This book is for me and for you…to inspire your days and support your love for connecting more deeply to the people you love.
how the little things got me through this awesome week
This past week was pretty messy and awesome. I labored with a lot of love over this little book. I couldn’t wait, everyday, to get back to working on it. Through out it all I was blessed with encouragement. Each of my kids and Mike wrapped me in hugs and whispered things in my ear. On the last day, Grace came in my studio and put this paperclip heart necklace around my neck. During the entire week I knew that this was an important thing I was working on with all of these wonderful people. Grace putting this little piece of love around my neck as I finished this project was the perfect way to put a seal on the depth and impact small and simple things can have in our lives.
With deepest gratitude I give you this book filled with sweet love for the people that matter most to each of us.
what is in this little book?
There are 25 tips in all. You can use it as a countdown to Valentine’s Day (there’s a calendar inside that you can print off and fill in with your favorite 14 ideas) or you can use it to inspire you everyday of February.
The thing that struck me most about these ideas was how much a part of daily life so many of them are. Each of them are doable and fairly easy to slip into your daily round. Here’s to the loveliest month of February you’ve ever had.
Happy Month of Love to you!
xoxo,
Davina
