my house has a personality disorder…
It’s Thanksgiving and Christmas here.
We’re caught in no-man’s land of the week between Thanksgiving and December 1st…except that it’s December 8th…so there’s something wrong with this picture.
I got sick on Sunday.
Mike got sick shortly after.
Our kids aren’t sick.
Not sick at all.
They’ve got plenty of energy.
The girls got tired of waiting for my sick self to get better so they started decorating for Christmas.
And didn’t want to mess with taking down Thanksgiving first.
The garland is falling off the ceiling.
But the stockings are hung by the chimney with care.
They’ve done projects.
And more projects.
And another project.
Baby Jesus and the wisemen are on the side table.
Mike brought me a lot of Thera-flu.
I drank it.
And then I drank some more.
Emmett has been at after school practices for a Christmas show all week.
He also did the dishes.
The girls did another project.
No one has picked up the trail of projects.
I did do some laundry.
Mainly, because no one had underwear to wear to school.
The laundry is now Mount Crumpit…on the couch.
If you come to visit bring a chair.
There’s no place to sit.
Laundry on one couch. Projects on the other couches.
We’ve had some healthy dinners this week that Mike got at Taco Bell and McD’s.
The pumpkins aren’t looking so good.
The girls did another project.
They pushed the stuff to the side so we could have a place to walk.
That was nice.
I got a note (or maybe two) from the school that some people didn’t do their homework.
I saw a cute Santa project.
I drank some more Thera-flu.
Grace came and cuddled up next to me.
I think I’m getting better.
I’m in that place where being sick is just a pain and you want yourself back so you can be excited about stuff again.
My kids will probably come home from school and want to clean the house. All spic and span.
That would be nice.
Here’s to a Christmas miracle.
Welcome to Limbo-land.
*anyone else in a Limbo-land kind of place?
