I’ve been a professional photographer for over 10 years. I’ve photographed weddings and families. Through it all, I’ve loved seeing the way familyness is different for every family.
These are families who have found their own awesome familyness. They’ve inspired me. I hope they inspire you.

Dear Crowells,
I miss you. My time with you in England was amazing. I’m so glad I got to see your everyday life of spilled milk, stolen food, prayers, funny stories, toy fights, and adventures to the library, bakery, and the sea with fish n chips. What a lucky time for me. Let’s have a repeat. <3

I know you told me you were worried I would be completely bored. I so wasn’t. Spending time with you and capturing your connections, crazy, water fights and fortune cookie fights, bedtimes and homework times, and just being you times were my favorite. Let’s do this again.

I adore you.
Love, Davina
The way he looks at her
No matter how many times he tried to whisper David still couldn’t stop laughing
Space between them but a dear closeness still
How high he flies in the air and his fearless laugh
Hudson’s really wide eyes always carefully watching what I was doing
Bald babies…and kids. My favorite…maybe because almost all of my kids were bald until almost 3 years old.
How they are a little rumply laying on the bed together because all real families are a little rumply
The way she’s cuddling him and breathing him in
Those squishy, little chunky legs. Love them!
Brothers who share…spoons, ice cream…whatever
Eating lunch together and being so grateful to know you.
How do you do it all with so much grace? You are amazing.
There’s always time to slow down
Dogs are hilarious
The altoids mints that couldn’t be abandoned
Both girls wanting to be carried and how beautiful Clair looked in that moment
The upside down book
I loved following you in the orchard and watching how sweet you were with your sister.
Parents get down on their kids’ level to talk to them, play with them
Dad’s chase their kids and the kids laugh and laugh
How excited everyone gets about lots of bubbles
Everyone lays on a blanket and there are lots of funny faces and laughing and talking
It looks like a rooster pooped an apple
I meet families like yours
Thank you for inviting me into one of the most intimate moments of life. Being at the birth of your sweet baby was a highlight of the year.
That face looking up at you while you both kiss?
The way she’s nestled between you both?
The way you look at your new baby?
The sweet way you are with each other?
The tiny little back rolls of baby skin?
The cloth diaper?
