something that is just you…
Sandy and John were in the middle of moving.
Life was feeling stressful and deadlines were looming down on them. They were supposed to leave town for their new home in Texas in just a few hours but still they wanted to have a chance to start a new tradition…and be together for a few minutes one last time here in South Carolina.
We went out to the woods with the plan to do a little Texas Two Step and drink some hot chocolate…
a new tradition they thought would be fun. And it turned out even better than they thought it would.
The frustration and all of the things on their minds were still weighing on them and so we decided a little yelling and jumping was in order. Personally, I think this is a great new (and unexpected) tradition to start…go out to the woods and scream at the top of your lungs and let the stress float away up into the sky.
Once the screaming and jumping happened everything felt more relaxed.
Try it. Today.
Is your list feeling a little overwhelming? Go out in the woods and so some yelling and jumping. You’ll feel better. And you’ll probably be laughing before you’re done.
Sandy and John are very kind to each other and laugh together at their little idiosyncracies.
It’s fun just to be around them.
Watching them dance together and then bring out homemade gifts for one another was sweet to see. Even in the craziness of moving to another state they still took a couple of hours to make each other a gift that would remind each of them that they were in this love story together.
I love this quiet and sweet new tradition…
Going to the woods, being together, dancing, giving homemade gifts, and having hot chocolate…
What are your holiday traditions?

Very sweet. The one of him singing to her while they are dancing is adorable.
That’s one of my favorites too, Amy!
