share your thankful heart…
We’ve had a weekend of being thankful and I know we’re all ready to move on to the next holiday. I promise this is my last little thank you idea.
For us, all of our Grandparents are far away. This year it didn’t work out for us to get together and we still miss them terribly.
So…we gathered some paper, made some homemade envelopes, and baked some cookies. On the bits of paper we each wrote things that we love about each of our grandparents. We are putting them in an envelope and sending them off as a little surprise (unless they read this before they get them…).
The cookies are to make the evening just a little more fun. (cue your favorite music here)
How to make the envelope:
Start with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and do all of the folding first.
Create a 1/2″ fold toward the back side of the paper on each of the long sides of the paper.
Turn the paper the short direction and fold the paper leaving about 1/3 of the back of the paper uncovered.
Fold the 1/3 that is left so that it overlaps the other fold by about 3/4″.
Open the envelope back up and run glue along the bottom 1/3 of the envelope on each side, fold it back into place.
Let it dry.
Now your envelope is ready for your thank you notes.
Seal it with a couple of stickers.
