Emma: The Rainbow Fairies.
This book series is Emma’s favorite of all time. She breezes through these books in no time. She loves that the main characters (2 girls) are always helping the fairies out of some kind of trouble…which is true to Emma’s nuturing nature. No wonder they resonate with her!
These are chapter books and would be excellent to read to your beginning reader at night before bed. They’re a perfect length to keep them interested from one night to the next but not so long and difficult that they would lose interest before you finished the book. They are basic writing and very formulaic (which is pretty standard with early chapter books as kids grasp the ebb and flow of story). As a mom, I love this series. We had a hard time at first finding books that would keep Emma’s interest. She didn’t care for The Magic Treehouse series (which Grace loves!). We found that she loves to read books that feel a bit like a mystery to figure out (maybe she’ll give a review of Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew). With time you can find books that suit every child. It just takes a little bit more trial and error some more than others. Now, every time we wonder where Emma is she can be found cuddled up in a corner with a book.
